Job description

Hampton Tedder Electric Co. has an immediate opening for a Facility Support Associate.

Hampton Tedder is an electrical power contractor, family owned and operated in Southern California for the past 65 years. We specialize in medium and high-voltage electrical power engineering, design, planning, construction, maintenance, and testing. We have three major facilities in the southwest US with clients from all over the world. Our close-knit family environment and diverse company makeup allow us to offer a breadth of knowledge and experience to our customers. Position Overview –

The successful Candidate will be responsible for various facility tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the daily operations at our corporate location in Montclair, CA. Tasks include but are not limited to shipping and receiving, minor facility maintenance, and light janitorial duties.

Candidate will be required to work cohesively with company personnel, vendors, and customers and demonstrate professionalism and integrity.

No job is too small, and “not in my job description” does not apply to this position.

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Shipping and Receiving duties for multiple Hampton Tedder entities.
  • Packing, weighing, and measuring parcels to be shipped.
  • Minor facility maintenance requests.
  • Light janitorial duties including trash pickup, kitchen restocking, spot cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintaining the shipping and receiving area in a neat and orderly manner
  • Assist with company vehicle fleet duties as required.
  • Parcel distribution to various departments or persons.
  • Forklift operation.

  • Attention to detail in all work, especially when performing repetitive tasks.
  • Strong verbal communication skills: including active listening.
  • The ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Take direction from management and adapt to changing work needs.
  • Communicate clearly and quickly with managers, field personnel, and clients about changes or obstacles to workflow.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including recording issues and documenting changes.
  • The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment is critical.
  • Ability to work outside in a working construction yard to perform necessary duties.
  • Ability to work inside at a stationary desk to perform necessary duties, including but not limited to recording information, documenting orders, and updating records.
  • Position requires the unrestricted ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, reach above shoulder level, climb stairs, pull, prolonged standing, and/or sitting.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Class A License is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Maintain employee confidentiality.
  • Prior construction experience is a plus.

Successful candidate must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening during the new hire process.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
